Finally!! Our little prince has arrived on 20 August 2007 !!
The long wait and worry is finally OVER!! *phew* What a relief.
The ordeal began 3wks before his birth, when we realized that he's literally not gaining much weight after 34th weeks during the weekly checkup @ Dr Hii's clinic. Still remembered that was in his 36th week, where the scan showed us his size as of 34th wk's and he only gained few grams in 2weeks which was supposed to be. When I asked Dr Hii to show me his weight, I cried.
Hubby and Dr Hii were stunned by my sudden reaction, but I was so upset and worried. "What happened to my baby??? " was the only thing in my mind. Dr Hii assured me everything's alright, baby is healthy and active but maybe just genetically small. C'mon, it's definitely easier for outsider to console you... but when a life that has been growing inside you for 36weeks, you can't help but feel the same way as I do. Tears just tickled down non-stop for an hr... no one can console me, not even my hubby.
But there's nothing I can do right then, only to wait for another week and see how baby's progress. Dr. Hii said baby is definitely not malnutrition as my amnotic fluid level is normal and the result of CTG scan (to check baby's heartbeat rate & activity level) also showed positive result. The ultrascan shows baby's stagnant weight gain a week later and Dr. Hii advised me to wait for another week before deciding if to deliver baby earlier, as baby will be fully developed on 38th week. It had been the worst for me these weeks, but I'm very very grateful that hubby had been with me, encouraging and supporting me! Love ya, dar.
20/08/07 : We headed down to Dr. Hii's clinic and decided on c-section delivery even though baby gained about 100gm this time, but his head diameter seems to have a decreasing result. I guess having an earlier delivery would make me feel more at ease too, to be able to see him physically healthy and alright.
Was scheduled for evening's operation and we managed to get admitted by mid noon. I endured the horrifying epidural's administration w/o clenching hubby's hand!! - because he wasn't even by my side during the procedure!! By the time he came into the operating theatre, I was already shivering badly with fear ! Gosh, it was only a 10mins before my baby's cries were heard!
ALL pain vanished when I hold baby in my palm for the VERY 1st time!!
The 1st trimester's morning sickness, having to avoid my fav. salmon sashimi for 8mths, the water retention & swelling during the last trimester, all the weight gained during pregnancy is ALL WORTHWHILE for this moment!!! Trust me.

BB's ultrasound scans...
:: 9 weeks ::
That's my little baby, in it's foetus form lying comfortably inside me..
At this period, I'm still having morning sickness.. no! Should be
"whole day-sickness"!!!! *Gosh* It only went off at the end of 1st trimester,
if I remembered correctly, but I'm still so grateful it did went away!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:: 14 weeks ::
Ah.. I was so thrilled when I saw this scan... it's so clear and prominent !!
Kept looking at this particular scan throughout dinner, till Jimmy nagged.
C'mon, can't help it knowing this little life is growing inside you day by day...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:: 15 weeks ::
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:: 18 weeks ::
The 2nd trimester is typically termed experienced as the
most exciting & enjoyable of the all 3 for - the morning sickness is gone!
Soon, I actually can feel my little one poking me "hello", and kicking me!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:: 21 weeks ::
This was the so called "Detailed Scanning" done @ Thomson Medical Hospital.
Baby's full details are all being recorded, including : heart beat rate, organs' functionality & sizes, blood flow rate in veins & heart, check for visibility of nasal bone, toes & fingers, etc.
It's very interesting, thought most of the times I had a tough time figuring out what's what..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:: 30 weeks ::
If you look closely, don't you think my baby's feeling alittle cramped in there?? His face is almost touching the wall of my womb.. or is he just being kpo to listen to the surroundings?? Hahaha.
But it's no wonder, I feel his movements so strongly these days.. he's so close to the boundary!
My little cute prince ... u're so adorable just by thinking of your action inside!!
