Short Getaway to Malacca

Let me share the few things we liked about Malacca:

• Chicken Rice Balls @ Kedai Kopi Chung Wah located at the entrance to Jonkers' Street. We actually chanced upon this kopitiam and it was also the same one Xiaohui mentioned to us. It's simply mouth-watering, with such tender juicy kampung chicken and fragrant rice balls, despite the long queue that makes it so authentic and different from the chicken rice in Singapore. Imagine we (2 pax) ate 1/2 chicken on Day1 and 1 whole chicken on Day2! We are not really chicken rice fanatics but rather great food fanatics!!

Long awaited day is FINALLY here!!! Reyes called me "MaMa" today!! Yippee!! Equally elated and in disbelief when he called me and needed friends to afirm the truth! Simply made my day!

Today Donglun and Shufen went through their solemenization and became man & wife, invited us for a simple celebration to share their joy @ Island Resort - East Coast. Congratulations in running the life-long marathon as husband & wife =)

Bubbles & 'Snow'

My colleague mentioned to me it's 'snowing' @ AMK Hub and perhaps can bring Reyes there to play. And I went! Haha I am always very onz when it comes to anything that can involve my darling boy! Not sure for what reason, Reyes doesn't seems to quite enjoy it - maybe he's a little scared with the crowd around? But at least he did try to catch the bubbles .. haha~

I can't help but laugh when I took this picture of Reyes!! He put on the 'beautifully coloured' hat and I asked him to pose for the camera and he REALLY DID! Gosh...!!! 'Nice' hat ya ?! Specially bought by his 'po-po' aka my mommy!!! What great taste of fashion!

Finally!

Yeah! It's FINALLY officially over!! Bye bye for now, it's time for a well-deserved break!!
We survived our 1st round of exams! Don't wish to even think about how we will fare for the papers, better revive alittle of my personal life first! Hahaha.

And FINALLY Reyes is walking on his own (from my old room all the way to the living hall)! He had been trying to walk independently for the past few weeks but gave up after 5 small little steps - guess he's not confident yet then. Dropped by at my mum's place after dinner and he proudly 'performed' for us his accomplishment! Good job Reyes! - I was of all praises for him! Guess it's indeed true & believable (to a certain extent) on the myths from the elderly - if babies doesn't know how to walk by 1 yr old, then it will be by their 15th months. Reyes will be 15 months old in 8 days! =p

FINALLY I resume back to work after my 7 days of (exam) leave! Gosh..... how i dreaded it! But work is work, that's life.

Procrastination

Down to my last paper in 3 days' time and just feel like having a god damn break and have a nice dinner in midst of studying! Well, should deserve a little break and procrastinate right? Hahaha

We headed in J.B with xiong, wife and bb for fishhead curry! Been craving that for a long long time! It's the best fish head curry I ever tried so far *yummy* (special thanks to YY for his good recommendation), and I am gonna be their supporter, till I found their rival. This shop was also featured in Makansutra as shown below.

We ordered 1 big fish head curry(for 4 pax & abv), 1 omelette, 1 vegetables, 1 claypot of braised meat and 1 plate of "Wu Xiang", oh ya and 6 bowl of rice (xiong had 2.5 bowls) and total bill was only RM 77.50 can!!! We had such a satisfied dinner!!! After that, we event went Lavender's for some desserts! Ordered 6 cakes and naturally coffee goes with cakes right.... hahaha. Finally everyone is full to the maximum, and it's became such a sinful dinner rather than a satisfying one!!! Hahaha.. but definately enjoyable!

Gone is LV, here comes Burberry

Damn the person who stole my L.V. wallet!!! You know who you are! And you will get your retribution! Remember "karma" DOES exist!!!! And it's just my luck!

The LV wallet was a gift from hubby for my birthday cum anniversary cum Valentine's Day! It's only 2 years old.... it could have been with me a lifetime! It's the most expensive and dearest gift from him ever and it's gone................stolen!

Besides, the total damage done was far more than the wallet-worth (S$700). With the replacement cost of my NRIC (S$300), company's corporate Zoo card (S$50) and some ATM cards (S$40) which totaled up to a whopping > S$1000, can!? And not forgetting the sentimental value of the wallet! =(

This is the gift from my brother, from his Japan's trip ... nice ya!? Actually I would prefer the white colour model but nevertheless I still love it! He's actually a sweet guy... he bought 1 long wallet (of the colour) one for my mom, 1 for me, and 1 black label card-holder for himself. And meant as a gift to us....sweet huh! *out of my expectation*

The most funny part is that he especially bought 1 soft toy for his nephew (Reyes); a greenish smiley tortise look-alike soft toy, only to Reyes's rejection! Hhahahahaha... Reyes kept shaking his head when my bro excitedly passed the soft toy to him.... Well, guess soft toys are not really Reyes's cup of tea. Thanks bro for all the gifts!!

Daddy was meeting his project mates at Plaza Sing, so took the chance to bring out Reyes to town by MRT!!! Haha, this will be his 2nd time taking the train, I am not worried about him being scared but how noisy he will be in the train!! Haha and true enough, he proved me right! The disadvantage of bringing him out will either be missing out one of his naps or napping time being cut short for the many distractions outdoors.

I simply liked the moments of him sitting in the moving vehicle(sponsored by daddy) - Reyes was so elated that I find it so warmth to the heart! Firstly we seldom took him out and needless to mention allowing him to take those payable vehicles! But I guess once occasionally is acceptable. Spent almost half the day in Dhobby Ghout area, as we will be meeting Beh & Vivien for dinner. Prior to that, we walked down to Paradiz centre, for a cup of iced coffee @ Killiney.

We headed home early as Reyes started to be cranky, and he slept so early that night!! When Reyes is tired, we as parents are dead tired! =p

Post Celebration @ Changi sea-view

I know I know, nowadays seems to be posting pictures on events that happened months ago huh!? Well can't be helped... I really do not have much time to do so.

Anyway held a mini post-celebration for Reyes at Changi sea-view, with some of Jimmy's friends and of course cousin Angie was there too. Nothing spectacular but just wanting to spend some quality time with Reyes which we had not been able to do so due to our work & studies commitment (sadly).

it's always his smile that brighten up my day, soothes my anger & frustrations =)

Hahaha.Hey it's really not easy looking after a kid, esp a hyper-active one. Everyone commented Reyes is long (aka tall) but I would think reason being he's skinny, not exactly the chubby type toddler. Skinny...yes... not at all chubby looking as my neighbour's gal who is only 2 days older! Simply because he can't sit still for a sec!! That's how active and attention seeking he is =p

Papa said he's a "energy sipper" ... what a papa to be calling his son that! Haha but I do agree though.

Initially our plan is to hold a mini birthday celebration @ Changi Sea-View which was already booked months ago, only to realise it's not good for belated celebration. And we deemed it as much of a hassle to be inviting friends and relatives to the event. In the end, we just went over to my mum's place for a simple cake-cutting session, going through some standard traditional procedures like :

1. Wearing a brand new set of clothes

2. Stepping on 2 "Ang Gu Kuehs" with new shoes

3. Letting him to pick 1 item out of the "goodie plate" which consists of Calculator, Chicken Drumstick, Abacus, Book, Ruler and a Pen. The significance of each individual item supposedly to be :

Calculator : to be a accountant / in financial field / v calculative

Chicken : chef / food lover

Abacus : seriously I do not know what's the diff for it with calculator

Book : Analyst / a bookworm

Ruler : Arhietect / Punisher

Pen : a writer / ?

Guess what he choose ???? .....
